My wife and I went to the dumpling making class on Wednesday and we had to be rolled out of the place afterwards. Not only was it a top class experience and perfect for a date night, the quality of food alongside the dumplings was insane. We were coached through how to make the perfect dumpling and made four different variations. Once we created our dumplings, they were taken away to the kitchen to the head chef to cook for us. Alongside our dumplings, we were also served with a host of sides including rice, kimchi, okonomayaki, prawn pancake and more. We were absolutely stuffed afterwards, everything was incredible. Would HIGHLY recommend booking. Go hungry. Perfect for date night but we will also be looking to go again in a group with friends. 10/10. ~ Gavin C

We finally visited Lucky Tortoise in Temple Bar yesterday — and it turned out to be a real foodie adventure! 🥢 We went for the biggest All-In tasting menu, and there was so much food that we couldn’t even finish it all! Every dish was fresh, full of flavour, and served hot. Despite the tiny kitchen and just one chef cooking everything, the quality was top-notch and every plate felt like it came from a proper high-end restaurant. The service was excellent: just two waiters running the whole place, but everything was fast, smooth, and professional. One of them even runs the dumpling masterclasses — which gave the evening a fun and personal touch. Lucky Tortoise is the kind of place where you can taste the care in every bite and feel the heart in everything they do. I’ll definitely be back — maybe next time for the masterclass! 💚🥟 ~ oksana o

Had an exceptional experience doing the dumpling making class at the Lucky Tortoise. The Lucky Tortoise team led by Fernanda were extremely welcoming and provided 5 star guidance and service throughout. Not only did we get to experience making our own dumplings but we were also served their tasting menu while we waited for our dumplings to cook, along with a welcome drink. The food was outstanding particularly the Okky, and the dumplings we made were delicious too (although we can't take full credit for it). No surprises to see this class sold out, a great option for a date night, team building event or any other occasion! Will definitely be back ~ Donnchadh H

I usually don’t write reviews online, but this place truly deserves one. I attended a sushi-making class here recently with some friends, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the instructors were knowledgeable, engaging and funny. The food was incredible too! Not just the sushi we made ourselves, but also the additional dishes that were served alongside, which complemented our rolls perfectly. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in Asian cuisine. I am already looking forward to coming back to try their regular menu as well. :) ~ momenoy b

Wij waren op 1e kerstdag (Christmas day) in Dublin, dan is vrijwel alles daar gesloten. Van te voren gezocht of er niet toch een restaurant open was om te eten met kerst. Wij kwamen uit bij de Lucky Tertoise Temple Bar, die dit jaar voor het eerst zijn deuren opende op deze dag. Super vriendelijk personeel en het eten was heerlijk. The restaurant and its staff are incredibly welcoming! I took part in the sushi-making class and it was the perfect activity, whether you're on a date, looking to meet new people or just want to have a fun time with friends. The Japanese women who taught us were so kind and attentive, making the experience even more special. We had an amazing amount of food afterwards, so much that we couldn’t even finish it all! Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared with heart. I highly recommend this place, whether you want to enjoy a great meal or take part in the class. It’s 100% worth it! ~ Ambre S

The class incredibly fun and well-paced, but the quality of the ingredients was genuinely top-tier. The real highlight, though, was the warmth and generosity of the team. They surprised my friend with a cake and even sang Happy Birthday, all without us asking. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the day feel extra magical. Honestly, I can’t recommend this class enough. It’s a perfect activity for a celebration or just to learn something new in a fun, welcoming environment. We were a group of 3. We ordered the set menu x 1 + tempura of cauliflower + Tofu bao. We shared everything. They served us each a bowl of miso soup. Miso soup was on the set menu. The extra 2 servings of soup at no cost was a lovely gesture, which was much appreciated. All the food was great. The room is nicely decorated. My experience is that the vast majority of restaurants in Temple Bar are mediocre at best. Lucky Tortoise is an outlier. Excellent food. Good value Service also very good. This place is something special. The moment the broth of the ramen hit my tongue I was taken away by how rich and flavourful it was. The kimchi was succulent and spicy, and combining the two together is a wonderful dish with a kick (absolutely get a side of kimchi and dump it in your ramen or curry). The staff member was wonderful and was very accommodating even as the solo front. I took a shot due to the wall art captivating me and I was not disappointed. The best ramen I've had across the entire UK and Ireland. ~ Olu

Sehr leckeres Essen. "All in" in vegetarisch sehr empfehlenswert. Viele kleine Portionen ergeben eine große Portion (von der man wirklich gut satt wird). 28€ pp ist vom Preis in Ordnung, da das Essen wirklich sehr lecker und reichlich ist. Außerdem bekommt man von allen Gerichten etwas und hat so sehr viel Unterschiedliches zum Essen. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und die Athmosphäre ist modern, jung und lässig. Von außen sieht das Restaurant etwas seltsam aus meiner Meinung nach, aber innen ist es wirklich top. ~ Nils H

Visited today with friends and my partner. We had a few starters like the pork gyoza and spicy chicken wings, and then the chicken katsu curry and katsudon. The food was honestly great and really tasty, way better than I expected. Nothing like most restaurants in Ireland. The pork had such a good texture and flavour, really rich and pleasant, and the dumplings were just sublime. I’d definitely recommend this place for me it’s a hidden gem in Temple Bar. ~ Sam J

I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. All in menus is a great idea & good value for money. Even better with a group of people as all in dishes can be placed in the middle of the table and everyone shares. It’s also super easy to have a table doing All in menus with different dietary requirements as loads of dishes are the same across all menus. They made a special effort to celebrate my birthday with a complimentary fizzy wine while there. It’s a great atmosphere and staff are really friendly and helpful. ~ Francesca

Had a great experience at the Lucky Tortoise. The owner and staff are very kind and the food absolutely hit the spot. The tempura was excellent with light batter and great variety of vegetables. My favorite was the pork siu mai. They had a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options. We were also very impressed with the kids menu. We are only staying in Dublin for a few more days and will be back before we go! ~ Conor S

I did the sushi making class. Really cool experience getting to make and eat your own sushi. You are taken through the process step by step making it easy to follow and a cool way to learn. You’re given a wide variety of ingredients which allows you to make your sushi the way you want it! You eat what you make and then they bring out a full meal after - everything was unreal. A must do in Dublin, especially with a few friends ~ Cillian D

We had an outstanding experience at The Lucky Tortoise Dim Sum Restaurant. We chose the set meal and loved every bite. The miso soup was comforting and full of flavour, the bao buns were soft and packed with tasty fillings, and the kimchi added a perfect tangy kick. The tempura cauliflower was especially delicious — crispy, light, and incredibly moreish. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and bursting with flavour. Five stars from us! ~ Dave D

To enter a place and be greeted by a big warm and friendly smile, makes the whole experience ten times better than the food alone. The server was the sweetest and stayed for a bit of a chat. Always makes me happy. I had dumplings and bao, both with pork. Absolutely fantastic food. The only thing I would like is for the lights to be toned down a bit. It is very very bright. Excellent food. We had the chef sampler and everything was delicious. The miso soup was flavorful (not watery like other places) The pancakes were moist not dry . The dumplings were tasty and spiced to perfection. Carlos was the best waiter ! He offered us a table without reservations and even had a large group coming in soon . He explained every dish and made wonderful choices for us. Will definitely go again to the Lucky Tortoise 🐢 ~ Dee C

Popped in yesterday for a late lunch. Brought a very picky teenager and we both loved every bite. The food is fresh, delicious and packed with flavour! We ate SO much. The Chicken Katsu curry was the star of the show. But really, everything was wonderful - the dumplings, the pancake, the bao buns. The slaw and kimchi is really good! Do not miss the nutella pancake dessert. Can't recommend Lucky Tortoise enough! ~ Sinéad R

Every time I visit Dublin I make sure to visit Lucky Tortoise 🐢 it’s such a treat! Today I was greeted by John who invited me to try a complimentary bowl of Miso soup. Tasty & delicious, it warmed me up on a cold Dublin day. I ordered the sweet potato dumplings which are very good. The food came out quickly and was really great. A warm welcome, great food and a cool atmosphere. I can’t wait to visit again next time I’m over. ~ Pixie E

Today we went to LT for a company event, honestly it was one of the best events we have ever had. Tortoise's food was so tasty and good quality. All staff was really polite and helpful. Everybody had such a good time tonight; this is such a lovely place with good food, flawless service, highly recommended either for corporate events or individual visits.
